The AGM of the swimming club will take place on Monday 29th September at 8pm in Askeaton Community Hall.

2014 2.5K River Deel Swim
The 2014 2.5K River Deel Swim takes place this Saturday 9th August at 4pm. Registration opens at 3pm in the Leisure Centre and its about a 5 min drive to the start.
The swim starts at the New Quay and finishes at the slip at John O’ Mahony’s. Its a straight route up the river. The finish is marked by a large sign saying FINISH.
It’s a handicap race with prizes for 1st, 2nd, 3rd Wetsuit/Skins and Male/Female as well as a prize for fastest time, so lots of prizes to go around.
There will be safety boat coverage from Bunratty Search and Rescue and the Civil Defence will also be present.
After the swim, there will be hot showers and tea/coffee/soup/sandwiches available in the Leisure Centre. The prize giving will also take place in the reception area of the Leisure Centre.
We still have a few places left so if anyone else is interested then drop me a email (eoin_k@yahoo.com) before Friday 4pm and I’ll add them you to the list. Entry is 20€ and can be paid on the day.
The weather forecast looks good for the weekend so hopefully we’ll have a nice day for it.

Newsflash!!!! We have the long awaited date for the Deel Swim…July 26th.
Its an 800m swim from Gurt to the bridge and is confined to members of ASC.
Winners in Aughinish Celebrations
Members of Askeaton Swimming Club receiving the €10,000 euro, 1st prize cheque, which the club won in the Aughinish 30 year anniversary celebrations for their submission on the Gort Waterfront Rejuvenation Project.
